We had a fun Halloween! We carved a jack-o-lantern, visited a bunch of family and enjoyed seeing a few trick-or-treaters. Liam was the cutest little chunky monkey there ever was!!

9 Months Old

Little big guy is 9 months old!! He had his well-child check up today. He is healthy and getting so big. He has 3 more teeth that are just about to break through, bringing the grand total to 8 chompers. He is the best baby!! He is happy most the time (other then when he is teething). He is crawling like crazy, pulls himself up on everything and everyone and he surfs the walls, furniture and pretty much anything that stands still. He is keeping us on our toes and we are getting lots of practice at remembering to shut all the doors and gate around the house. We are getting excited about Halloween next week. We have had such a fun summer so far! Taylor's little sister was in town from Washington for a visit and to meet Liam. They had a fun photo shoot from our friend Kamie. We spend a week camping and fishing. Liam has cut his first tooth and has been a little fussy. We finally blessed Liam in June. He is getting so big and he just started sitting on his own. We are having a fun summer!

My Mom gave my sister and I the nicest Mother's Day gift!! She paid for a super cute photo shoot of our little boys. They turned out so cute!! The photographers name is Kami Hair. 3 Months Old

Liam is 3 months old today! He is growing fast and getting big chunky cheeks. He is sleeping better at night and naps well during the day. More sleep=happy mommy. For the most part he is a happy baby. He loves to be held and he is starting to get much more interactive. Last night he met a new friend, I put Liam in the bumbo chair and placed him in front of the bathroom mirror. He smiled and talked to his reflection for several minutes. It was hysterical!! He loves to be in the car seat either in the car or in the stroller. He has had his first miserable cold and his first road trip. He loves bath time, especially in the big tub so he can splash around. Taylor and I are loving being parents.

Welcome Baby Liam

Welcome baby Liam Joseph! We are so happy that our baby is finally here and that he is happy and healthy. I went in for an induction on Wednesday January 19Th in the evening planning on labor through the night and delivering on Thursday January 20th. Things went amazingly well and just as planned. The slow induction went as planned and the progress initially was slow but steady and surprisingly comfortable. The worst part of the whole thing was the uncomfortable hospital beds...call me spoiled. The Doc broke my water mid morning and I received an epidural an hour later. I think I am going to have to add the Anesthesiologist to my Christmas list he was so amazing. Since I was in no pain I spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing and letting the Pitocin induced contractions push the baby down into position. Around 2:30pm we tried a few pushes with the nurses but the baby was still really high so a couple more hours of resting. At around 4:30 the Doc came back and I pushed through a few contractions with the nurses and then a few more with the Doc and out he came at 4:57pm. The Doctor let Taylor announce to me that the baby was a boy and we were so happy that he was finally here. He weighed 7 lbs 1 oz and was 20" long. Everything was done and cleaned up and he was in our arms before we knew it. We enjoyed a little family time then Taylor quickly started making calls and texts to share the great news. We had a few visitors and after recovering in the delivery room and getting to visit with family and snuggle Liam we settled into our room for the second sleepless night. I love my Doctor and the nursing staff (both delivery and nursery) are amazing and really made things enjoyable. We are now home from the hospital and learning the ropes of being new parents and enjoying every minute of it. Liam is a doll and looks just like Taylor did as a newborn. We are so happy and grateful for an easy delivery and a healthy baby and especially for a comfortable bed at home.

I have totally fallen off the blogging bandwagon. Here are a few pictures of the stuff we did around the holidays.The day after Christmas Taylor and I drove down to Blanding to see Grandma Shirley and while in town we drove to Bluff and had lunch and walked around the cemetery.

We made gingerbread houses at the Christiansen's house. It was so much fun!! I haven't made a gingerbread house since I was in grade school. We always have so much fun when we are invited to the Christiansens.
It wouldn't be Christmas Eve without Taylor's AC DC t-shirt! We had a house full to celebrate Christmas Eve. It was fun to see old family, meet new family and pig out and laugh until our guts hurt!

The Polar Express

We were invited by the Christiansen's to go on The Polar Express on the day after Thanksgiving. We had a blast!! We ate dinner in Heber then loaded onto the train. We were visited by elves, Mrs. Claus and Santa on our way to the North Pole. What a nice way to start off the holidays.

If you love your mechanic as much as I love my mechanic it is totally appropriate to celebrate his birthday!! The shapely legs sticking out from underneath the car belong to Taylor and today is his special day!!
Along with being my top notch mechanic he is also my personal Strong-man. Tight lids on jars consider your self warned! He has never met a tight seal that couldn't be broken. (Taylor is very modest and will be mad that I showed off his buff arms....and a little embarrassed about me showing off his well earned farmers tan).

We have had a fun summer! We spent a long weekend at Flaming Gorge, spent a weekend in Honeyville at a family reunion and sent to the Solider Hollow Sheep Dog Classic and this up coming weekend we are going hunting with Todd. It has been fun summer!

We love rodeos!! We try to go to at least one or two rodeos every year. We missed Strawberry Days but we didn't miss Fiesta Days. We went to the rodeo on Friday night and we stayed in our seats to watch the fireworks. The rodeo was awesome!! No major injuries to the cowboys or livestock, great performances from the clown and the specialty entertainer. The guy who trained and rode the Brahma bulls was awesome! It sprinkled on and off but luckily we had covered seating. It was not too hot and fairly windy but luckily our backs were toward the wind. It was a fun night out!

How we are spending our 24th of July weekend: Right now Taylor is watching Rambo and I am blogging and we are listening to the Parade go buy a few blocks away. Juney is freaking out because of the cannons and sirens. Next we have some house work/yard work to do and a few errends to run. Later we are headed to the Spanish Fork Rodeo and maybe if we are feeling extra adventurous we might stay for the fire works! We love Utah!! Hopefully I will get some good pictures of the rodeo! The youth activity this past week was going up to Spanish Fork Reservoir and watching the kids float in their cardboard regattas they constructed. Here is a picture of Taylor on the sidelines coaching the kids on his team. Their team came in second place, the water logged cardboard boat was the second to the last one still afloat.

Summer Garden

We have been picking and devouring grape tomatoes for over a week now. We had our first BLT's last weekend. Corn in our garden is still a few weeks away so I will probably have to hit a Harward Corn Stand this weekend to get some yummy corn. I am getting ready to try shredding and freezing zucchini so I can make cakes and bread at later dates. I feel like zucchini is coming outta my ears right now!! The pumpkin vines have grown out onto the lawn so we have to mow around them. The pepper plants are still small but are covered with peppers.

One of the many reasons I love living in Spanish Fork is because our local Army Reserve Unit has a yearly flag retirement at the Rodeo grounds. Our neighbor who recently returned from his second deployment was asked to be the key note speaker. The huge Macey's flag was retired along with hundreds of others that were collected throughout the county over the last year. If any of you reading this has an old tattered flag that needs to be retired, contact your local boy scouts troop or Army Battalion for a proper retirement. It was a very moving ceremony including speakers, a Army helicopter fly over, a 21 gun salute (using the cannons) and the boy scouts were asked to help. Each boyscout (and the one cute little girl scout) were handed a flag and then they walked to the line of soldiers lining both edges of the fire, the soldier accepted the flag and did an about face and placed the folded flag into the fire. It was very neat and very moving!! I am so grateful to be an American!

Taylor was feeling better after being hit with a wicked head cold in the middle of the week, so we decided to leave town for the 4th of July weekend. We went down to Bicknell and helped cut hay. I think Taylor is the only guy who would choose to work more on his weekends instead of staying home and relaxing. But to him farming isn't work. He LOVES helping with cutting, bailing and hauling hay. We had a really fun weekend! Happy Independence day

A few weeks ago Taylor went on a Boyscout over-nighter and I took that opportunity to invite Mom over to watch Jane Eyre with me. It was a fun night of chinese take-out, Jane and Mr. Rochester. It was a girls-night-in, and juney slept through the whole thing. Tayor packing and getting ready to leave. Mom cuddled up enjoying the movie.

After dinner on Saturday night we decided to head over to Rec Outlet and shop around for some compact camping equipment. Rec Outlet is awesome because no one looks at you weird if you are laying in the isle in a sleeping bag. After 3 attempts Taylor found the perfect fit.

Today is our 7Th anniversary! We have been married for a quarter of our lives! That is crazy to think about. We spent the weekend celebrating, we left Juney at Mom's to play with the happy dogs and we drove to Heber to have breakfast at our favorite breakfast place "Chick's" then we drove to Park City to "Yuppie Watch". Does everyone in Park City have a gourmet coffee cup surgically attached to one hand and a yoga mat attached to the other arm? That is the way it would appear. After church on Sunday we came home and grilled some steaks and then both took nice naps. Marriage is easy when you have a husband as amazing as mine!!

Because of all the much needed rain we have been receiving over the last week our garden has been growing like crazy! These pictures were taken early last week and we have had rain everyday since then. Juney was getting pretty brave and started getting too close to the garden. This is the first year that we have planted a decent sized garden. This year we are growing garlic, 2 types of corn, 3 types of tomatoes, 2 types of peppers, 3 types of squash and 4 types of pumpkins. We might expand our garden spot next year so we can add more crops. We can hardly wait until we have fresh corn on the cob and BLT's. I am also excited to start cooking with the fresh herbs I have been growing in my kitchen window.

Taylor and some friends took a weekend scouting trip to the Bookcliffs. He had a ton of fun and saw a lot of deer and elk. He said it was kinda cold but he stayed toasty warm because anyone who knows Taylor knows that he is always prepared with extra gear. The only good thing about Taylor being gone is that I can watch the movie Jane Eyre repeatedly if I want to without catching any guff (...sigh...Mr. Rochester). Just kidding, I am glad he had fun but its always great when he comes home.

Last week Juney and I were at the vet's office and I saw a guy picking up his two huge labs from the groomer. I had not idea that groomers would shave a shedding breed. I talked to the groomer and she said she does it all the time. I hate dog hair!! Money well spent in my opinion. Doesn't juney look so funny!?! She is getting more and more gray everyday.

We spent the weekend in Bicknell and in between rain storms Taylor and I drove out to the Teasdale Cemetary to clean some graves. (I didn't even get my hands dirty) The Teasdale Cemetary is very neat, it is not cared for by the town. If you want something done with the resting place of your loved ones it is your responsibility. This is a picture of my Great Grandpa and Great Grandmas headstone. These are Grandma Ora's parents. Grandpa died when my grandma Ora was three months old. Sad story. I love family history.

I took a bread making class on Thursday night. This class changed my life as I knew it! It was amazing! I couldn't wait to get home and try out my new bread making skills. So last night I mixed up a batch of dough and I made a pizza for dinner, 2 loaves of cinnamon bread and a large artisan round. I used the cinnamon bread to make french toast for breakfast today. This is such an awesome recipe! You can have any type of bread start to finish in one hour. Taylor is happy that my bread making has improved, the last time I made a loaf of bread it was so hard he considered making a brick addition to our home or else keeping the loaf in my purse as a self defense weapon!! I will keep you posted on more pictures of my domestic creations.

Surprise!!

Mandy and I are sneekee! We kept Shelby's visit a secret and then surprised Mom at work. Shelby spent over 26 hours traveling from Fort Benning Georgia to Fort Bliss Texas and then on to Utah. After a long night in an airport she was excited to get back home! What a trooper! Taylor and I also went to Bicknell this weekend to help with the calves but it was snowing and blowing so we weren't able to help. I didn't even get the camera out. So we all spent the weekend watching Conference, it was excellent! I have a video but I am having problems uploading it...check back later.

Check out the totally cute Swing Purse that we made last week in our sewing 101 class. The lining is really cute white a neat black design and there are 2 pockets and a key fob that are make out of the red accent fabric. Totally cute!! And it only took me 4 hours...yikes, they almost kicked us out of the church at 11pm. Our sewing teacher Shannon is so awesome! I am going to make another bag with darling brown and white giraffe fabric. The second bag is always quicker and easier. I will show you the next bag after I finish it!

Taylor's Grandpa Dick gave him this elk head to display in our house. Taylor was more than happy to do so. Grandpa got this elk almost 10 years ago while Taylor was living in Colorado. Taylor has pretty much given me free rein with decorating the house, he only had one request.....something dead on the wall. It is a compromise I can live with. We do disagree on whether or not to name him. This picture really doesn't do him justice, his antlers are really huge!

Taylor went ice fishing Saturday with his buddy Larry. They went to their favorite honey hole and Taylor landed this HUGE 23 inch cutthroat trout. I am not sure if you can tell in these pictures but Taylor has a wicked sunburn!! Sunday morning his face was so swollen that when he first woke up he wasn't sure if he would go to church because he couldn't move his face. He soon felt better and made it to church with an un-shaven face. I bet by tomorrow he will look nice and tan. I bet the sunscreen won't be forgotten next time. Ouch!

Welcome Home

Our neighbor was one of the soldiers that was welcomed home from Afghanistan early on Friday morning. The Young Men from our ward put up a border of flags along their yard. It looked so awesome! Last night we were invited to a little neighborhood get together at their house. We have the best neighbors!! Welcome home Keir!!

We are way boring...we didn't find any trouble to get into while in Sin City. I did get lost for a while since I lack any navigational skills. In a fit of frustration I vowed to never go to a new place without my GPS (aka-my wonderful husband). We had a ton of fun seeing family! Hunter is a Guitar Hero now and she is growing up so fast. We had fun being lazy and hanging around our super nice hotel! We highly recommend the Monte Carlo if any of you are planning a trip to Vegas anytime soon. We did go see Twilight with Hunter and Grandma Evelyn, Hunter hadn't seen it yet and I thought....what the heck, I bet I will like it the 5Th time as much as the first. It was really warm!! Around 70 degrees everyday, a nice break from the snow back home. On Monday the 2ND we went to the Little White Chapel to see Rick and Dawn get married, it was a special day. Taylor and I also had the opportunity to go to the Las Vegas Temple on Saturday night. It was sooooo beautiful. Here are a few shots from our trip.

I haven't blogged in forever!! We have both been so busy at work and getting ready for our vacation to Las Vegas. We are excited to see Hunter! Last weekend I should have been working on my house work buy instead I made some fun crafts. I made a fun Valentine's Day decoration and some fun blocks that I now have sitting on my window ledge above the kitchen sink. I also made some blankets out of the fun sock monkey fabric. I am just about done with my quilt, I just have to finish the binding. I will post some pictures and stories from Vegas!!

I am not behind on my blogging, our life is just really boring!! We did have our enrichment group sewing class this last week! Thanks Shannon for being so patient and teaching us how to make these receiving blankets with a fun mitered edge. I found some really cute fabric from Gracie Lou's at a HUGE discount right after New Years day. I ended up going back to buy more fabric and I fell in love with the darling sock monkey design! I wish your computer had a touch screen so you could feel just how soft the flannel really is! I love the matching ric-rac and I will post some follow up pictures when I am done. I forgot how much I really liked to sew. Any day now I am expecting my Christmas project quilt back from the machine quilter. It will be all done as soon as I bind the edges. On Friday night we went to Taylor's company winter party at Gardener Village, while wondering the shops we went to the quilt shop and I got discouraged....almost all of the quilts were on sale and I could have bought several quilts with the money I have spent on my quilting projects. Oh well.

New Nativity

I was given the most amazing nativity this year!! The pieces are all carved from olive wood that was pruned off olive trees that are growing in Jerusalem. Olive wood has really neat grain and the pieces are sanded so smooth. I love it!!

I remember in grade school being asked to write a paragraph on how I spent my Christmas vacation. This year I wouldn't need a paragraph, I would only need a few sentances. I have spent most my free time piecing together the front on a new quilt. I am just about done with the front, I need to go to the fabric store and get fabric for the back and I think I want to do a border around the front before I have it machine quilted. Taylor has enjoyed watching (in my opinion) stupid movies while I have been too distracted to complain. And now it is Saturday afternoon and we haven't even started writing the talks we were asked to give in church tomorrow. I have ignored just about everything else while I have been working on this project. I will put up a picture when I am done.

During the summer we bought a 4-wheeler with a snow plow on it. Taylor finally got to use it! It has snowed every other day this week and there is more snow in the forcast!

Mission Update

We got our first e-mails from Austin. He sounded amazing!! He was made a zone leader and has 12 missionaries he is responsible for. Five of the 12 will be serving in New Hampshire and the rest will be serving in Spokane. He talked a lot about the Spirit that is there in the MTC and about how much work is necessary to prepare for the mission field. He said they study constantly and his head hurt for the first three days from being filled to the brim. It was an amazing e-mail! He are pround of him!

2. What was the first thought that went through your head when you met? I remember thinking that he was funny....he was goofing off on the bus ride back from the State Fair.

5. Where did you go for your first date? I can't think of one specific date, we hung out so much in High School and it wasn't really dating and then when he moved back to Utah we kinda picked right up where we had left off as good friends. We have had many fun dates since then though.

7. How did he/she ask you out? Refer to #5 but I made the first call after he sent me a nice Christmas card.
8. How did he propose to you? He drove us into the mountains and asked me. After I said yes a deer walked by the truck, and then we had dinner at Taco Amigo. We had a non-romantic dinner of fries and soft flour tacos, our favorite :)
9.Do you and this person have kids together? Not yet, someday.
10. Have you ever broken the law with this person? Knowing that our parents check our blog I am going to say NO, of course not! I can't think of anything to major...maybe speeding (on my part not Taylor's, I have the lead foot.)
11. When was the first time you realized that you liked this person? I liked him instantly and we were fast friends. I first realized that I loved him when we were watching Lonesome Dove at my apartment.

14. What is the best gift she/he gave you? (I am stealing Jen's answer, I think it says it perfectly) Wow.. That is a tough one. Everything he does is from the heart. Just having him forever is gift enough. That's the best!
15. What is one thing He/She does that gets on your nerves? He procrastinates dumb little things that would take two minutes to finish. This is easy to live with though, usually the sight of me with a hammer and a box of nails in enough to spring him into action and hang the picture himself.
16. Where do you see each other 15 years from now? Still happy, hopefully with a bigger family.
17. What causes the most arguments? Being honest...my PMS. We almost never fight but usually I start it.

We are proud of Austin for making the decision to serve a mission. I had the opportunity to go to the MTC today to see him off. He will be in the MTC for three weeks before shipping off to Spokane Washington.

I have joined a sewing group at church, last week the project was these darling tote bags. We get together once a month and we have an awesome teacher!!

Nativity

This is the Nativity that my Mom made for me a few years back. I love it!! It reminds me of the one she would display every year when I was a kid. Some of my favorite pieces are the shepherd with the twig as his staff and the little lambs.

Christmas Tree

I spent last Friday afternoon decorating the tree. I love the feeling at this time of year when the tree and the nativity are set up. I am hoping to have the nativity set up this weekend, I will post a picture soon.

Bicknell

It has been a while since our last trip to Bicknell. Austin's missionary farewell was this weekend so we took the opportunity to go play on the farm. It was a short trip, we went down Saturday midday and came back Sunday afternoon. We can't wait to go back again. While we were there we played Nintendo Wii and got hooked!! It was a fun weekend!!

Called to Serve

Turkey Shoot

Last Saturday Taylor and the boy scouts went to the Spanish Fork gun club for the annual turkey shoot. Their group brought home 3 frozen turkeys. They competed in many events including shooting trap, throwing stars, and sling shots. They had a blast!!

TWILIGHT!!!

So after months of waiting the Twilight movie finally came out!! Me and the girls from work have been planning this day for weeks! We had tickets for the 10:00am showing on Friday, it's never to early for popcorn right? Taylor had to work but would have opted for a voluntary kidney removal before agreeing to see this movie on opening weekend with a bunch of screaming women. The movie was good, a little on the cheesy side but very enjoyable. We went to lunch afterward and discussed our likes and dislikes. Can't wait to see it again! The lovely ladies in the picture are the awesome girls I work with Cory, Becky and April. If any of you have seen the movie, drop a line in the comments. I would love to hear what you though of it.

Timpanogos Temple

Yesterday we had the opportunity to go to the Mount Timpanogos Temple and do the ordinance work for Taylor's great-grandpa who died last year. It was a very special day filled with The Spirit.

Manti Temple

Shooting

A day at MEPS

These are some pictures I took on Tuesday when we went to watch Shelby swear-in before boot camp in the U.S. Army. She flew out yesterday morning. We are very excited and proud of her.

Voting

Taylor and I both voted today. The way I look at it, if you don't vote you can't complain about the way the polls turned out. Now that we took the time to vote we can complain all we want. Does anyone have any ear plugs?

Deer Hunt 2008

These are some pictures taken at deer camp this year. The guys in the picture are Taylor, Uncle Robert, Granpa Dick and Uncle Justin, they made up the hunting party. As of last night, no one had got a deer yet but much fun was had by all!

We had family pictures taken last Saturday before Shelby leaves for Boot Camp and Austin leaves for the MTC. The pictures turned out really nice!
